作品取自西西1976年的小說《我城》第十二章的三句短話，句句均能對應當下香港社會的消亡。
Novels are like books of prophecy; in which writers perceive nature’s secrets much earlier than prophets do.
This work is inspired by three short sentences from Chapter 12 of My City, written by Hong Kong novelist Xi-xi in 1976. Those sentences seem to reflect the social disintegration of the present day Hong Kong.
