The 911
attacks were definitely a tragedy, but maybe it is more than the
one-dimensional sadness as the 9/11 Museum has depicted it. I saw
many a Stars and Stripes, one after another, as they were excavated
from the ruins of the attack, but I didn't shed tears like other
visitors in the museum. The Muslim world is not solely to blame for
the tragedy. In Nightly, a novel by Kuo Chiang-sheng, it was
only after the fall of the Twin Towers that complicated realities
and diverse individuals in the urban crowd started to come to life.
