To take part in a residency is to unlearn my artistic ideology and
creative trajectory, especially when I have crossed half the globe to
America, with its culture and history so remote from that of Asia. Time
goes by and things are in a state of flux while nobody knows where the
changes will take us. Culture is built on the current trend of events
and what people think at the time. Learning is never just for
youngsters, while practice is how to get accustomed to constantly
changing environments. The line as printed in acrylic board comes from
the Declaration of Independence, taken from an information package given
to new immigrants by the US government.
