When I returned home from a residency trip, I found more and more graffiti had appeared in the streets, yet I don’t know when they would be erased or painted over. The history of a place moves forwards slowly as it sinks and floats during the process of writing and being erased. The true face of history is formed during the resonance of struggle and contradiction.

The circular image is a photograph taken on the streets. The English sentence is an extract from the constitution of a country. The Chinese characters, taken apart into phonemes, come from the lyrics of a song.
